            Today a guest arrived in our class, from Johnson wales University. Her name is Jill Naughton.   The reason why she came to our class was to invite the students to take a course in the University in their last year of high school. This school is a private school. When someone thinks about a private school, many think about the cost of the tuition, however,  she explained that this is not reason to prevent you from joining because they offer scholarships. Sometimes if your involved in any clubs or sports, you automatically are accepted if you apply. The reason why she chose to advertise the university at our school is because our class is a Fashion Designer and Textiles Arts class and this school has two majors that involves what we're studying, merchandise and retail clothing. In addition this school offers personal experience like travel to take a class that is part of our majors. Finally she gave a lot of information and now students might think about joining this University.

        What is a "function vs Design '?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Is a product by designer create but a designer add it something makes different  than another. First,  a designer has to think to make competitive and unique at the moment.the attraction of the consumers Is not only the product that creates is something have a function that makes practical. Sometimes that designer is not attractive but has a good function that yourself needs nothing else. However, at these days always consumers look for something innovate and practically makes life easy. We can seem all that time came up a product that you really like and ask yourself  why is came up before so easy my life but inside in heart you say thanks. In addition, have some examples that think same like me. When I know about this iPhone case that includes a charged battery in the same case I think is a really good function that saves my time and doesn't have to worry because I think is a convenience for travel or long trip. Another example is a sports pants is to protect UV have a small bag with a zipper that you can carry your keys or iPad when you running. Finally, In my class, we develop a product have a function we have the concept to create scrubbers with tulle fabric with adding it  to each piece of crochet that looks delicate and decorative that attracts the attention to women.

"Fast Fashion"

    The true cost of fast fashion has different contrast these days .In our society fast fashion is the biggest demand for clothing. The reason why it cost so low is because people like to get more and pay less or some of the consumers have a lowbudget and cant afford high cost clothing. This really influence our economy. Therefore, it affects humanity by Industry's because they pay poorly in labor.  In some places, each person gets an hourly pay by cents. Because families get paid poorly, their family can't afford basic items, such as food, education, and even health insurance. Some employees also can't afford to pay for medical help when they get sick by contaminants and chemicals from factories that don't have regulations. Also, some farmers cultivate cotton which is exposed to pesticides. Sometimes people track others attention with other peoples influences in status or economy. In addition, this really impacts workers and consumers. On holidays, consumers spend a lot of money on fast fashion. Retail stores make a lot of advertising by sending emails on television or catalog that your get by mail .My recommendation for consumers is to spent less on fast fashion and try to make your own clothes. Finally, I hope designers think more about the enviroment and how they affect it.

Since 2014 Cyber Monday is  coming very popular.At this day the deals is going to 70% most of merchandise is coming  up very successful.             "Black Friday" is the day after thanksgiving day. Most retail stores have door busters and early birds. Stores make a lot of profit on this day and they attract their consumers with advertising. The first time people talk about it was when it became popular on September 24,1869. If you are planning to go shopping on this day, you should definitely have a plan. The reason why I say this is because on this day a big crowd of customers shows up and the lines to purchase are very long.  You would probably also have to think about what you really need or are going to use. For example, if you are planning to buy a TV, you may lose your focus because of all the mayhem going on in every store. I think that "Black Friday" is a good thing for you to go shopping  because you might find things that you always wanted for a good and cheap price. I have had a good experience in the past and get good discounts. I don't think that "Black Friday" is bad for people, but it also depends on the person decision. However, bringing a small child is not a good idea to do because the kids don't sleep well, the kids can cry and bother other people, and you may not choose the right item because someone is tracking you attention.

On the other hand, the mannequin is only used for display  in department stores.  Most of the designers use a standards sizes   It is fabulous it know for posture fit, shape, and quality in a dress.  At this  days  both tools  are very useful for designers to make create draping  dress  for high quality.

    The development of a product  is the first concept  to create something. Most everyday products did not get famous in an instant. You first need to think about it. You have to estimate the cost of the materials that you are going to use and if you're going to manufacture the product, you need to produce it by mass. In my class, we developed a product and we did a presentation for our product for pitches, for the ones we wanted to sell, which product is  appropriate for our customers, and which one appeals our customer's attention.I read an article of Toni Ko's, about 7 steps for effective product development coming success. Ko talks about NYX cosmetics and how this product is the best thing to sell.I learned a lot from reading this article about how a low-cost vendor isn't necessarily your best bet. You need to go for quality and reputation.  Also sometimes you have to be in charge in what you sell and find a place to settle and sell your product. The place in which you settle matters a lot because it is the place in which you will try to sell your product. In addition, she's said to not overstock, if your predict to sell 100, don't. Instead of buying 1000, buy 110.  At this time, our product isn't ready ,but I think we made a good decision, and our pop-ups retail shop will go very success and profitable.

    Fast fashion is the cause of a major problem in the environment. New research by McKinsey &Co; found out a way on how to consume fashion and how it affects our ecosystem and other companies. Consumers are middle class buying these type of clothes and the attracted is low-cost. Also, it is linking to issues of labor workers abuses. At these days continually is rising incomes from five countries such as Brazil, China, India, Mexico, and Russia. Apparel sales are continuing growing by the middle class is the development of economy eight times faster than in  Canada, Germany, In the United Kingdom. Environmental impact  "will require an action"of Industry to manufactured fast fashion. Definitely, there will be consequences to buying, the clothes are very poorly construction and is made with cheap materials, and there not last longer. It contains chemicals that affect our ecosystem. Suggestion  for Industry of fashion investing recycle fibers development of new fabrics following  norms to introduce how to take care of garment. In my opinion, that we should help the environmental and ecosystem and to consume less, create our self-outfit, investing to buying medium quality and classics styles.

Why do you think the fashion industry is "behind" when it comes to sustainability?

     The Fashion Industry is "behind"to reform clothing brands for ethically produced fashion. I think this because of society and the pollution impact. When we see, we then demand clothes.The brands try to introduce Eco- friendly clothes.To be sustainable you need to calm  yourself and change. My impression of this article is that it talks about company's issues and their changes. These designers  introduce environmental and Eco-friendly clothing. Perhaps,  these designers are trying to innovate the fashion industry. In these days, it's important because they involve other designers and they think about the next generation.In addition, when it comes to sourcing Eco-friendly fabrics and trims, the 60s and 70s and earliest 90s have the most social and political movements. For this reason, I say that some days it brings us attention that issues for manufacturers consequences. I  don't think we need to solve that much but is "behind"to make changes to take care our planet. I feel confident to purchase  a garment with a calm attitude. In my personal living, the steps that I'm doing is to not purchase a lot garments. I also read the tag to see how they can be cared for, that way the garment would last longer.

     The Balmain's  Fashion show  takes place in Paris.If  you know about Balmain or you don't gone love it.The designer is a lead and this brand is Olivier Rousteing. He worked for almost 6 years and is very success. Rounsteing created like a jungle catwalk. This collection show displays aesthetic and clear of a brand. Furthermore, I saw those models wear a Sleeves styles such as kimono. bell sleeves,turtle neck, tops transparencies, silhouettes, flare pants, trench coats and ,jumpsuits. The Rousteing show displays 80 looks.Each look I a saw different technique and different style. He creates these garments to think about all types of women who have a lot of variety. Some of the garments are loosened if some women are not feeling confident to wear a tight to the body this is an option to inspire to wear.I like how he added to the garments a combination of all three,and all anchored by a range of wide waist belts. Colors are playing an important part of the show.I like the pallet of colors he used is  olive green, burnt orange , purple,for  this collection he used a snakeskin with bright colors such as green, red ,and blue and I liked how he combined it.Also, I saw textures such as suede and heavy embellishment. While the time I saw the last beautiful dresses.His talk was inspired by the Kardashians. I think Rousteing is the person to encourage young people because when he was little, He suffered issues of discrimination. One of the big issues is bullying. His examples are to encourage to someone have same issue or situation. At his young age, his has the talent to succeed.  Socialized with celebrities influence to be a success. Finally, for those young designers have a dream like him follow that you have and believe yourself.

          One of my wildest dreams is travel around the world. Since I was little I used to flipped pages of travel magazines. I was allure with the beauty of nature. But most important I have interested it on Europe I love the culture, architecture, and history.  One of the countries that I was amazed is Paris. In my dream, I see myself walking around the Eiffel Tower taking pictures with my family. Then eat crepes for breakfast. At night walk in the downtown area. Moreover, I fly to Italy. First, I visit vineyards and some wine testing. Also, I saw how to make a wine. Last but least, I visit Amsterdam. and drink the best beer.  After that, I when to Anne Frank House. I admired her courage and she is a true hero to me. Anne inspired me to achieve my dreams and live my life to the fullest.

I think is going she looks beautiful  to wearing garments from this brand. Also, famous singer's like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars. All these singers make line up to singer.This event celebrates this year December 05. Is can be the spectacular show. However, this brand is very popular all always introducing different's styles colors .and are medium cost and quality. Your can effort anyone can buy something from this store. For me, I not can effort high cost and high quality but for this brand, I like the bras and body lotions. If you never try this brand you can pass by and try something.

In addition, social media plays an important role in Halloween because many people like to share their creative ideas with the rest of the world. Furthermore, celebrities make up remarkable and creative costumes to show to the public. For example, Heidi Klum's butterfly costume. When I saw all these costumes, I got a general idea of what most people like to wear. I saw a lot of photos, some of them were scary, while some were funny. What is quality assurance (QA)? What does quality assurance inspector do? why is it important for a company to have standards of quality assurance?

         The quality assurance is the development of a project, to ensure that follow the  standards of levels that garment they going to design. The inspector works with the designer and the factory to understand the specification of the garments.  In addition, the inspector inspects the seam allowances, grain line, hem sizes, stitches  length,and patterns matching. It is  important to have standards of quality in fashion because helps to keep the quality of a product. If the factory or any other individual don't have manipulation of these five areas  such as sewing technique, fit, textiles, and visual design. The company loses  credibility and clients. That it is essential for a company to have standards of quality assurance for instance, if the company  does not protect the logo or brand it can be stolen  and would be owned by the person that stole the logo or brand.

The quality of the apparel can generally be described as high, medium, or low.                                                                                        High- quality.These garments have the best construction features,that reflects on the designer's work.
Have attention to detail.For example plaids and stripes match and it appears that the high garments prices show good quality as well.                                                                                                                            Medium-quality.These garments are constructed well and reliable.the garments are made durable. They generally reflect good designer,else used are good in quality fabrics.These garments are in the medium prices.                                                                                                                                     Low quality.The quality of the garment is construction poorly, and the Principles of a good designer may not be followed.                                                                                                                                                  According to three categories, you may choose the one that you may prefer. I think if you spend a little more time on your garment you can create something that you would love to wear for a very long time.For example, when you buy a blouse that is part of the trend but its low cost, you may think after two weeks  that it may not look the same,Instead, you should buy a high quality or medium quality garment for it to last longer .

"Halloween Fashion"

I  celebrate Halloween every year and it's a big tradition in the USA .Every year I wear a funny costume because I don't like scary ones. I would sometimes wear dramatic makeup such as red lipstick and smoky eye shadows and fake eyelashes.In this day, I don't have to worry about people's thoughts.Usually, I would wear an iconic celebrity or a historical person like for example, Marilyn Monroe and Cleopatra.I choose these examples because these costumes are easy to wear no matter if your tall or short, you can be fitted. I think every woman should have something like this in their closet. I say that mostly all the time when I go out to try a costume in the store it isn't exactly my size and I get frustrated.That's why I'm creating my own costume.I think that Halloween is a perfect time to express yourself confidently. When you go out in your costume , you should have a fun time and you shouldn't have to worry about people's thoughts.

The first time that I heard about kids exploration in the clothes factory, I was surprised that little kids work at such a young age in Europe.  For example, I read about a 15-year-old boy's story and saw how his family can't effort basic items that they need to live. It breaks my heart when I see this photo of this boy because it reminds me how poor people live. When people shop for their clothes they never think that these garments are made by kids. I think the government of this country has to make laws for regulating the clandestine factories. Any child, no matter the country, must have the same rights and opportunity to have an education.In the USA it's rare to hear about something like this, but it is happening. Because we always take advantage of our issues or situations, people can't really talk about it .Usually, when this happens in the USA ,whoever is in charge of the brand or company, they have regulations; However, these issues still happen.In the USA, authorities help victims only when they denounce the case or situation.However, In every country, rich or poor, this is still happening and no one knows it.

The Fashion show in London has vulgar content because some of the models wore unusual and inappropriate garments .Some designers create unusual garments with print patterns such as Cheetos bag and floral print. I even saw some garments that were transparent, which revealed nudity to the audience.  One of the models wore a skirt and in front of the skirt it had the head of an elephant. The accessories play an important role on these fashion show. I respect these designers that create their own concepts; However, exposing the model's body makes it controversial. Following fashion trends depend on personality and there is none of that in these shows. These are the types of garments that I don't like to see because it is highly inappropriate, but some of the other garments are acceptable.Perhaps some designers try to attract the people's attention and earn fame.I think fashion shows should have rules or norms that they can regulate in these events. For me, I say that when models appear naked in front of the audience, it is highly inappropriate; However, Things like this influence  normal people to think that this is acceptable.

High heels were worn by  Ancient Egypt dating back to 3500 B.C.  In Ancient Egypt, murals there are depictions of high heels.  Moreover, during the Ancient Roman and Greek Era were worn  platform sandals called Kothorni" or "Buskins"  which were made of high wooden cork soles. " During the Middle ages,  men and women would wear "pattens" that were made of wooden soles, attached to their shoes in order to keep their expensive of fragile footwear out of mud and street rubbish.  Chopines were another type of  platform shoe that emerged in the 1400s in Turkey  and became well known through Europe until the 1600s, but these platforms shoes were worn only by women. This shoe  heel was about 30 inches above the ground, women required  a cane or  assistant from servants for walking. Furthermore, in the 1500s shoes were made into two pieces, a movable upper piece attached to a stable sole. This invention rises the popularity of heels within women and men. But in 1533 the first high heel was invented. This fashion could be accredited to petite Catherine De  Medici who was engaged to Duke of Orleans at the age of 14. Nowadays, you can find a pair of heels shoes in  every women closet. The high heel shoes give confidence and elegance to a woman. It just part of a woman wardrobe.

     What is a Fashion Show?                                                                                                                      A fashion show is an event showing designers clothes down a runway showing new trends. That is a central development of session and department stores.According to magazines and social media,   celebrities collaborate in fashion to create their own clothing line, like the hip-hop artist, Kanye West. This magnificent show takes place in France and New York. Some American designers get inspired by haute couture designers such as french designers. These days fashion shows are made more to engage and grab more customers. Some of the shows have extravagant garments that normal people can't wear, some fashion shows are even made for fundraising. While people watch the show, they have food and drinks for audience to feel more comfortable. When you have the time to attend these shows, you will have a good time and experience seeing many other designers presenting their magnificent creations.

FIDM & Business Trends in the Fashion Industry

The FIDM is a school that offers degrees and majors on different types of artistic subjects, the campus is located in California. If you would like to be a fashion designer, then this is the school for you. I hear so much interesting things about this school. The representative of FIDM came to my class and talked about the advances and opportunities that they give. She played videos and explaining how is made their products and how they add images to grab the buyer's attention. Some of these images are made by specials effects. Furthermore, we saw two videos by celebrity singers Rihanna and Beyonce. Each of them represented a different company brand to make them more popular. Technology is now playing an important role in some stores. Los Angeles has a store that has a screen on the wall so you can see what sizes or colors you want on your jacket so you wouldn't have to go back to get another one. Ideas like this inspire me to become a fashion designer.

 "Teamwork"is when a group of people work together for the same cause, assignment, activity.In real life, sometimes you have to use teamwork in mostly everything, the reason why I say this is because, on some of activities or assignments, a person can't  do itself. Teamwork has pros and cons sometimes sharing thoughts ,comments, and opinions can be a positive or negative thing for example when I work in the lab with my teammates to get things done is have a good and positive result. However, working independent focuses me on doing my assignments and it also benefits me if I ever get paired up with someone that does none of the work. But the best way to get success is asking the team leader. Sometimes when I have some struggles in the lab, I will always ask someone on my team to help me out.

The fashion Industry , there are thousand of people working to make their asses off  it happens .Not only is it extremely competitive but many people have no idea where to start.I going  to talk about these tree types of jobs on fashion Industry what are Editorial Assistance, Technical  Designer, and Pattern Maker.

Editorial Assistant

Editorial Assistant  is a person constantly read magazines books and websites the key to doing this type of job is be good in grammar , punctuation, and incredible organization skill, else doing travel ,knowledge about photoshop and required bachelor's degree, experience 1-year in  journalism. I think this type of job is very tuff all the time to be on task but if like to be involved in it this is you have a good experience.

Technical Designer

 A technical designer is a person who is responsible for the design from the digital start to the final physical product.  Special skill is to have the ability to identify a problem early on the spec stage so the corrective action can be taken.  In addition, attending meetings is required for this position. Requirements need to have a Bachelor's degree in Pattern Development or Fashion Design.If you are very success computer skills and love fashion this one opportunity to be fashion industry.

Patternmaker

Patternmaker is a person that  have strong knowledge of fabric, garments construction , sewing, technical drawing, measurement, and fitting.Patternmaker converts first patterns to production patterns , provide guidance and direction to sample cutters and sewers. Participate in fit sessions with fit models; Identity and solve fit  balance with the garments. This type of job required minimum 10 years solid work experience. Have the ability to multi-task and time management and have to travel. This is a fast-paced work environment  it requires multi-tasking and  good  math skills.

Do you think that the setting of the show with the computers, robots, and retro vibe was intended to bring the brand to a younger audience? Why or why not?

I think on these Channel's spring 2017 RTW show is innovated. Definitely, Karl Lagerfeld want's attracting attention the young age people because when introduce a retro vibe, and have data storage  a setting of the show with computers, at these days  most of the younger people depends on technology. Furthermore, I saw model worn a mask and hybrid boots  like robots. Patterns  plaids a role important on this show so as such bright colors with plaid patterns, and models wore a baseball hats on sideways.The brand of Channel is lead a bring out original Great esteem young women of this collection all celebrities they go in like.

The french designer ,Agnes b, is distinguished on simplicity, chic,and streamline suits. However this collection is the attraction of  relaxation and tranquility; furthermore, we saw on the catwalk models worn a comfortable suit.Also, we could see a pallet of pastel colors such as light green ,blue ,and pink. Then I saw some dresses with silhouettes. Cardigans  have been a part of this collection and what I like most about them is the touch delicate that it has . Shoes play a key role to these garments such as ankle heel, sandals, and sneakers. Few garments have a floral print, but what's interesting about them is the pattern. It has a very real like photo of a garden on them. Well, in this collection I notice that it has  minimalist for women but at the same time, it has an elegant and chic .

What are hems? How can they affect a garment's appearance?

The term of " hemline"
entered  fashion-speak in the 1930s. When hem first became a focus in fashion, slavishly reported on how many inches about the floor the latest season's models were hemmed. Most of the hems were very useful at these  days for any cloth. In addition,  all types of  sewing techniques do not work for all types of fabrics.  Therefore, some fabrics hemline are heavy weight such as wool or lightweight like silk would require different sewing techniques.  If the measurement is incorrect the edge of the hem would be uneven  and for that reason, the garment would not be a good quality.  Last but not least, the hemline can be 1/4, 1/2, 1 1/4, and 2'. It depends on the fabric or the type of garment that would be constructed.

I though to use a sew machine is easy but I have some struggles on  my first practice of pivots the pedal machine is can it faster and you have to it very gentle. And my little experience in hand sewing is to precise the needle very gentle in seam allowance of fabric. Also you have to ironing your fabric otherwise  wouldn't make it. I respect those  people is work in this field most of then  they do fantastic work and I found minors mistakes.  

about the important communication skill of "listening

     The communication skill of listening is very important in our lives . Listening is a major factor when working with others because if you don't listen to your partner, things might end in a disaster.  Listening to others also lets you compare and contrast ideas. Without this skill, many of us would be lost in what were doing. Plus when listening to others, we should always respect the person talking and not cause any disruptions. We should be patient and listen for the main idea of what the person is trying to say.

Gucci's most spectacular show!

    The Gucci fashion shows  spring 2017 in Milan is presented by Alessandro Michelle .His creations are inspired by a poem called songs-innocence-inside-.In this collection, I saw trends that come up in colorful colors ,floral print ,chunky heels , eyeglasses with embellishment ,most of the garments are vibrant colors and some of the garments are classic for example blazers, delicate gown dresses.  The  contrast of this collection is a childhood itself  of sense is safety, expression,exploration.The only concern that I have about the fashion is that it's mostly presented in pink smoke and in the dark. Because of this, the audience can't really appreciate the details and embellishments in the garments as well as the accessories that were worn by the models.   I was personally amazed by this collection,  and what  I have  learned is  that you can get inspire  from anything.  It was definitely the most colorful and fun catwalk that I have ever seen. So get inspire and follow your dreams!

How important is community service to developing 21st Century skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity If you went on the field trip, write about your experience and how you were able to practice these important skills. If you were not able to go, write about another community service project you might involve yourself in this year.

     It's very important these days to be involved in doing community service. At the field trip, I was very interested in what I saw because most of the people were about 50 yrs. old. They like to spend time creating beautiful quilts. I think these people are very creative and patient because my first thought when I saw them, I thought to myself how long did it take to make those shapes ,colors, and patterns. However, what I mostly like about their work is the type of community that they have, I especially like it when they acknowledge others. One of the people that I helped out was making a comfortable quilt. She told me that the small size quilts were made by little kids and that they make them do this so they learn how to quilt from a young age. After this experience, I learned that even at an old age you could still find the desire to make things the way you imagine with others.
