Madeleine Vionnet was a French haute couture designer. She was born on June 22, 1876, in Chilleur-aux Bois France. At the age of 11, Vionnet started her training as a seamstress. Then, she moved to London to improved her skills in tailoring.Vionnet's luxurious designs were inspired by Greek vases and Egyptian.Built an empire by rejecting.corsets and buttons in favour of "bias"cut silhouettes and draping. In 1912 she founded her own fashion house named "Madame Vionnet", for a short period before the Worl War 1.Built an empire by rejecting corsets and buttons in favour of "bias"cut silhouettes and drapingShe employed over 1,100 seamstresses and was the first fashion house to create ready to wear from haute couture for sale in United states. Madame Vionnet in the 1930s her bias cut clothes is considered haute couture and awarded the Legion d'honnerur, France's highest honour.Also, she's the unique designer to changes the labor practices of employes at the time.Vionnet died in Paris on March 2, 1975.Today this iconic Parisian bran is still known for its impeccable body fitting garments.
